What kind of video works best?
Anything where people talk: podcasts, interviews, webinars, lessons, commentary, vlogs. Clipping Clips picks moments from what is said, so a video with no speech gives it nothing to work with.
How long can the video be?
Up to 90 minutes and 512 MB per video.
Which languages are supported?
Transcription detects the language automatically, or you can set it. Captions are tested in Latin and Devanagari scripts. Other scripts depend on the fonts available where Clipping Clips runs.
Does it follow the speaker's face?
Not automatically yet. Fill mode crops to the centre and gives you a slider to move the crop onto your subject; Fit mode keeps the whole frame.
What does it cost?
It is free. Each account can process 60 minutes of video a month, and the allowance resets on the 1st.
What happens to my video?
It is stored on our server so you can edit your clips, and deleted automatically after 7 days. The audio goes to a speech-to-text service and the transcript to an AI service that picks the moments. The privacy notice has the details.
Can I use footage I did not make?
Only clip video you own or have permission to use.
